This is a beautiful antique copper bakraç, a traditional Turkish/Ottoman deep bucket or pot, featuring a distinctive flared shape.
• Estimated Age: Dating back to 1940.
• Material: Hand-hammered copper, showing a lovely patina and remnants of its original tin-lining (tinned interior) which was common for cooking or storing food/liquids.
• Design: It includes a sturdy iron handle and a reinforced rim, typical of utilitarian pieces made for daily use.
• Condition:
There is a small crack/split on the bottom of the piece.
The exterior displays a rich, aged copper color with patches of silver-colored tinning remaining, highlighting its age and history. The bottom is also hand-hammered. In the second image, it is shown used decoratively as a planter/vase for artificial flowers.
