An exceptional Turkish hand-made soap box bathhouse hammam container, used to transport clay soap and washcloth when taking a communal Turkish bath.

The piece was used as a former beauty case for women as they visited the public bath, the "Hammam".

Inside the box they carried soap, comb and washing materials. The star shaped pierced bottom part is to drain the water.

Copper lidded box with elongated oval shape is sitting on four embosed legs.

Beautiful product, quick shipment

I was delighted to receive my beautiful copper Turkish bath box. It has lovely detailing and was true to the pictures. We accidentally let our own Turkish bath box that my parents purchased back in the 1960s get mixed up in an estate sale and lost it, so this was a welcome replacement. Thank you!

Beautiful product, quick shipment
